Dyer welcomes record renewables boost to UK industry

Dyer has welcomed the Government’s recent announcement of a record level of new offshore wind capacity, secured through its latest auction, alongside a £3.4bn Clean Industry Bonus designed to unlock private investment in UK factories, ports and domestic supply chains.

The scale of the announcement represents a significant vote of confidence in the UK’s industrial base and its role in delivering the energy transition. The Clean Industry Bonus is expected to catalyse substantial private sector investment, strengthening domestic capability and supporting economic growth across key industrial regions.

What is particularly encouraging is the confidence being shown across industry:

  • Every £1 of public funding is expected to unlock £17 of private investment
  • Up to 7,000 skilled jobs will be supported across industrial clusters
  • Significant investment will flow into ports, manufacturing facilities and supply chains critical to offshore project delivery

As an established engineering partner to global offshore operators, Dyer has supported offshore projects for more than two decades and continues to invest in people, facilities and technology to meet the demands of increasingly complex offshore work.

Commenting on the announcement, Adam Leggett, Managing Director, said:

“This is welcome news. As an established engineering partner to global offshore operators for over two decades, we’ve seen how long-term investment decisions shape UK engineering capability. The priority now must be to turn this funding into deliverable capability that strengthens domestic supply chains.”

The announcement reinforces the importance of sustained, long term investment in UK engineering and manufacturing, ensuring the capability and experience needed to support offshore wind growth are firmly embedded within the domestic supply chain.
