Six of our team have successfully completed a 120-mile off road cycling challenge along the iconic Sandstone Way, all to raise funds and awareness for the Red Sky Foundation, a North East charity supporting children with heart conditions.
Over the course of three days, Dan, Glen, Mick, Andy, Shaun, Steve, Danny, Ryan and Adam tackled one of the UK’s most demanding mountain biking routes. Stretching from Berwick-upon-Tweed to Hexham, the Sandstone Way follows the sandstone ridge through Northumberland, taking in remote trails, steep climbs and dramatic crags along the way.
The route isn’t for the faint hearted, with large sections of rough terrain and constant elevation changes that tested the team’s endurance and determination throughout.
Speaking after the ride, the team said:
“It was one of the toughest challenges we’ve ever done but knowing it was all for such an important cause kept us going. Red Sky Foundation does amazing work, and we’re proud to support them.”
Red Sky Foundation provides life saving equipment and lifelong support to babies, children and families affected by heart conditions. Their work across the North East makes a real difference to those living with serious cardiac issues.
The team’s effort has already raised thousands of pounds, with donations still coming in.
A huge well done to all involved!
